Lawsuit filed over fatal helicopter crash in Md.

The widow of an Army specialist killed in a Black Hawk helicopter crash in Maryland last year and two other soldiers who were critically injured are suing Sikorsky Aircraft in Connecticu­t, alleging the tail rotor system was defective. The lawsuit was filed Monday in state court in Hartford by Spc. Jeremy Tomlin’s wife, Jessica; Capt. Terikazu Onoda and his wife; and Chief Warrant Officer Christophe­r Nicholas. The suit seeks unspecifie­d monetary damages. The Sikorskyma­nufactured Black Hawk crashed in Leonardtow­n, in Southern Maryland, during a train- Baltimore is offering money in exchange for guns, between $25 and $500 during three events this month. Mayor Catherine E. Pugh and Interim Police Commission­er Gary Tuggle announced the launch of the gun buyback program Tuesday. Pugh said the program is one strategy to try to reduce violence in the city, which will likely surpass 300 homicides for the fourth year in a row.
