On Mon­day, ad­vo­cates will an­nounce a much-an­tic­i­pated bill to raise the state’s hourly min­i­mum wage to $15. A news con­fer­ence is sched­uled for 5:30 p.m.

Bal­ti­more Demo­crat Cory McCray is spon­sor­ing the Se­nate ver­sion of the bill, while Prince Ge­orge’s County Demo­crat Di­ana Fen­nell will spon­sor the House leg­is­la­tion.

The bill would raise the wage to $15 by 2023, a move ad­vo­cates say would ben­e­fit nearly a quar­ter of the state’s work­force.

Ho­gan will take the oath of of­fice Wed­nes­day for a sec­ond four-year term.
