Hogan should run for Senate, not president

-

I am sure that it is a plot by the Maryland Democratic Party and The Baltimore Sun to convince Gov. Larry Hogan to run for the Republican nomination for President in 2020 (“Larry Hogan should run for president — just not as a Republican,” Feb. 4). He should, instead, run for the United States Senate, where he could honorably represent the people of Maryland.

For many years we have been represented by senators who just simply do whatever they are told to do by the Democratic leadership. I personally feel that I have not been represented by our two Democratic senators. I know how they will vote on every issue before the vote takes place. I feel that Mr. Hogan will vote on the issues and not what his political party demands.

As governor, he has been fiscally conservative and socially moderate. I believe that he will represent the independent and moderate Republican and Democratic voters of Maryland. I only wish that we could find a Mr. Hogan type of leader to lead Baltimore City. It could be Clarence Mitchell IV, but he is enjoying his radio program too much to get embroiled in the quagmire that is Baltimore City politics.
