Tigers end two-game losing streak

Kionna Jeter scored 14 points, Nukiya Mayo had 12 points and Janeen Camp had 11 to lead visiting Towson women’s basketball to a 68-56 victory over Hofstra Friday night.

The Tigers improved to 13-8, 7-3 Colonial Athletic Association and the Pride fell to 7-15, 1-9 in their third straight loss. The victory ended a two-game losing streak for Towson. Sandra Karsten had a game-high 15 points and Boogie Brozoski had 11 points for Hofstra.

The game was tied at 10 in the first quarter before the Tigers outscored Pride, 24-17, in the second quarter to pull ahead. Hofstra’s Mariane Kalin tied the game at 14 with 8:40 left in the second quarter before Towson went on a 11-0 run over a threeminute span. Camp made a layup and two free throws during the run.

The Tigers led by as many as 14 points, 65-51, with1:55 left to play. The game ws tied four times and the lead changed three times. Towson travels to Northeastern Sunday at 2 p.m. and then hosts UNC Wilmington Friday at 7 p.m.
