Arundel man arrested on charges of child pornograph­y

Anne Arundel County Police arrested a Severn man Thursday after charging him with three counts of child pornograph­y possession and with violating requiremen­ts of the Maryland sex offender registry. Nicholas Benjamin Hittle, 39, was registered as a Tier 2 sex offender and had failed to disclose informatio­n to the registry, police said. In January, Anne Arundel County police began investigat­ing a report that someone was using an account that was associated with uploading child pornograph­ic images to an internet site, police said. Over the following several months, detectives served several subpoenas and search warrants to identify the person using the account, police said. On April 5, detectives searched an address in the 8000 block of Wayne Road, where Hittle was, and interviewe­d him, police said.
