Cleaning alleys shouldn’t be viewed with suspicion

I guess I understand your pessimism regarding Scott Presler’s act of kindness. Maybe that’s what you’re used to from political figurehead­s who make promises and then don’t deliver, but come on, he and those who came did a good deed and deserve better coverage than this.

You make it sound like what the did was condescend­ing to those who live there.

I’m guessing people living in that neighborho­od feel overwhelme­d by the mounds of trash that have been illegally dumped there and knowing that the city does not care enough to come pick it up.

Can the editorial board go and actually talk to residents and ask them if they think Mr. Presler only helped people who spoke kindly of President Donald Trump and poorly of Rep. Elijah Cummings? I am just an American from the middle of the country who loves it when regular Americans help their neighbors.
