Trump economy not as good as it seems

-

The author of “Baltimore Business Women: I had high hopes for the Trump economy. It’s even better” reminds me of many a business person under the Trump economy pointing to their 401Ks and assorted investments as the sole (and soulless) reason to praise the great divider President Donald Trump. She writes how the economy is on an upswing, but actually it’s a roller coaster more than an upswing and slated to get bumpier as tariffs on China exports and vice versa have recently increased. The economy may appear to be rosy now, but it is not political posturing or fake news that shows 72% of economists recently surveyed by the National Association for Business Economics believe a slowing economy will tip into recession either by next year or 2021.

But the real whopper in the piece is the admission that “his avenues of communication may be rough around the edges.” Rough around the edges?! No. A 9 year old who gets upset and yells liar whenever he receives any sort of criticism or cannot get his way might be described as rough around the edges, not the president of the United States. Not this one.

I do agree wholeheartedly that President Trump is “empowering women across the country.” Beginning with the Women’s March on Washington and the record number of women elected to Congress, he certainly has empowered women, lots of them. And they will be, unlike the author, looking at more than their respective 401Ks when they vote in the 2020 presidential election.
