Penguins rally, end Isles’ long win streak
Bryan Rust scored his second goal of the game in overtime and the Penguins ended the Islanders’ 10game winning streak with a 4-3 victory Thursday night in New York.
Rust extended his points streak to five games.
The Penguins erased a three-goal deficit in the third period and ended a three-game skid. Jared McCann had a goal and two assists, Evgeni Malkin also scored, and Matt Murray made 20 saves.
Blues’ Steen out: Blues winger Alex Steen will miss at least four weeks due to a high ankle sprain.
Steen injured his left ankle in a collision with the Oilers’ Alex Chaisson late in the second period of the defending Stanley Cup champions’ 5-2 road win over the Oilers on Wednesday night.
The Blues put Steen on IR on Thursday. He will be re-evaluated in four weeks.
Steen, 35, has five assists in 17 games this season.
The Blues, who have won six in a row, already are without winger Vladimir Tarasenko for the rest of the regular season.
One-timers: In his second game back from a sevengame injury absence, John Tavares scored at 2:33 of OT to give the Maple Leafs a 2-1 victory over the visiting Golden Knights. ... Tom Wilson scored twice, the second 17 seconds into OT to lift Capitals to a 5-4 win over the host Panthers. It was the Caps’ fifth straight victory.
