Now in its 23rd year of existence, Dolch is the ninth recipient of the award in 2019. Last Friday, the Seahawks (9-0) visited North County and completed an undefeated regular season with a 49-7 victory. The win captured the Anne Arundel County championsh­ip for the Seahawks and clinched the top seed in the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Associatio­n Class 4A East Region playoffs. South River hosts the Annapolis on Friday in the opening round of the playoffs at 7 p.m. All 10 Coach of the Week winners receive a $2,000 donation to their school’s football program and an award from Ravens coach John Harbaugh. In addition, each coach will attend the Ravens-Jets game at M&T Bank Stadium on Dec. 12 for an opportunit­y to be named the Ravens High School Coach of the Year. Grace Berger scored a career-high 24 points and No. 24 Indiana opened its season with a 75-52 victory over Mount St. Mary’s on Thursday night. Aryna Taylor scored 15 points with eight rebounds for the Mountainee­rs. Indiana outrebound­ed Mount St. Mary’s (1-1) 42-25. There were 39 turnovers, 21by Mount St. Mary’s, which was just 3-for-19 from the arc. Women’s college basketball: Stevenson had three players named to the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonweal­th All-Conference teams, including senior Brianna Christie who was named to the first team. In addition to Christie, seniors Marissa Inglisa and Rylie Patterson, and junior Keegan Caffrey received honorable mention. Women’s college soccer: Three members of the Big Ten champion Maryland squad (16-2) earned All-Big Ten honors. Senior Madison Maguire was named Offensive Player of the Year and junior Bodil Keus was voted Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutiv­e season by the league’s head coaches. Maguire, Keus and freshman Emma DeBerdine were named to the All-Big Ten first team. Maryland will take on either fourth-seeded Michigan (13-5) or fifth-seeded Penn State (6-11) on Friday at 4 p.m. in the Big Ten semifinals at the Penn State Field Hockey Complex. … Salisbury collected three of the major Capital Athletic Conference awards and a conference-leading nine players picked up All-CAC honors. Senior midfielder Arielle Johnston was named the CAC Player of the Year, fellow senior Jillian Hughes was tabbed as the CAC Defensive Player of the Year.
