Kostecka paces Loyola Maryland

Andrew Kostecka scored 25 points to lead Loyola Maryland to an 84-76 nonconfere­nce win over host Delaware State on Wednesday in men’s basketball.

Delaware State’s “Pinky” Wiley’s free throw with 1 minute, 44 seconds left cut Loyola Maryland’s lead to three, but the visiting Greyhounds scored seven straight and made all seven of their free throws after that point to build a10-point lead and pull away.

Messiah 65, Stevenson 47: The host Falcons (5-1, 1-0 Middle Atlantic) outscored the Mustangs (3-5, 0-1), 37-24, in the second half.

Hampden-Sydney 72, St. Mary’s 68: The visiting Tigers (2-5) built an early lead and outlast the Seahawks (2-5). Gary Grant had 15 points for St. Mary ‘s.

Women

Temple 74, Towson 59: Kionna Jeter scored19 points, but the host Tigers (3-5) fell to the Owls (5-4).

Fairfield 66, Navy 52: The host Stags (2-4) used a 23-11 run in the second quarter to pull away from the Mids (5-4).

Hofstra 51, Morgan State 39: The host Pride (2-5) finished on an18-9 run to beat the Bears (3-6). Chelsea Mitchell (Atholton) scored 16 points for Morgan State.

Washington College 66, Bryn Mawr 31: The host Shorewomen (5-2, 2-2 Centennial) finished the first half on a 23-5 run and beat the Owls (0-6,, 0-4).

Notre Dame Maryland 72, Wilson 62: Gators at Phoenix 7 The visting Gators (4-3, 2-0 Colonial States Athletic Conference) used 1 29-13 run in the fourth quarter to beat the Phoenix (1-4, 0-1).

Dickinson 61, McDaniel 54: The host Red Devils (2-4, 2-1 Centennial) went on an 11-0 run in the third quarter and beat the Green Terror (2-4, 0-3).

West Virginia State 94, Frostburg State 87: Morgan Dombroski scored 24 points, but the visiting Bobcats (1-7, 1-2 Mountain East) fell to the Yellow Jackets (2-4, 1-2).

Gettysburg 68, Johns Hopkins 46: The host Blue Jays (4-3, 2-1 Centennial) led by Diarra Oden with 15 points, faded and fell to the Bullets (6-1, 4-0).

Shenandoah 63, Goucher 55: Alayna McFadden scored 17 points, but the host Gophers (4-3) fell to the Hornets (4-2).
