No. 4 Howard 56, Mount Hebron 37: The undefeated Lions didn’t get any big offensive performanc­e from one of their stars, as no player scored more than 12 points in the win over the host Vikings.

What led the No. 4-ranked Lions to their 11th straight victory to start the season was something that’s been present in almost every one of their games this season — a stout defense. Scott Robinson’s squad has allowed fewer than 40 points in nine of 11 games this season.

Howard (11-0, 6-0 Howard County) is allowing 34.2 points per game this season, which ranks second best in the county behind Marriotts Ridge (34.0 points per game). The only games Howard has given up more than 40 points are Reservoir (63) and South River (47).

Catonsvill­e 63, Lansdowne 13: Ashley Dickey scored 12 points to lead the visiting Comets (4-5) over the Vikings (2-7). Chesapeake-AA55, Glen Burnie 52: Ashley Chew scored a game-high 22 points and Morgan Gray had 18 points to lead the Cougars (4-5) past the host Gophers (6-4). Chesapeake trailed 29-27 in the first half. Glen Burnie was led by AmounePort­er with 19 points and Madyson Hinton with 18 points.

Arundel 44, Broadneck 31: Tye Queen scored 12 points and Brandy Middleton had 11 points to lead the visiting Wildcats (8-3) over the Bruins (2-5).

Perry Hall 49, Chesapeake-BC 35: Mary Tolentino scored 17 points, Brenna Ellenberge­r had 13 points and 15 rebounds and Lily Hines had 11 points and 16 rebounds to lead the visiting Gators (2-4) over the Bayhawks (4-1).

St. Mary’s 46, Severn 36: Ashley Roy had18 points and Karry Kelliher had 16 points to lead the Saints (9-7, 2-3 Interschol­astic Athletic Associatio­n of Maryland B Conference) over the host Admirals (1-14, 0-5). St. Mary’s went on a 17-4 run in the third quarter. The victory was the third in a row.
