Woman charged with stab­bing man in An­napo­lis

A woman was ar­rested and charged with as­sault Fri­day night af­ter she stabbed a man in the back with a kitchen knife, An­napo­lis po­lice said. Of­fi­cers re­sponded to the 1100 block of Madi­son St. — near the Leron M. Fisher Com­mu­nity Swim­ming Pool — for re­ports of a stab­bing around 11:55 p.m., po­lice said. They found a 25-year-old man had been stabbed in the back, po­lice said. Of­fi­cers quickly lo­cated the sus­pect and the weapon. Po­lice ar­rested Kierra Mone Stafford, 25, of the 1900 block of Copeland St. She has been charged with first- and sec­ond-de­gree as­sault, reck­less en­dan­ger­ment and car­ry­ing a dan­ger­ous weapon with the in­tent of in­jur­ing an­other, ac­cord­ing to on­line court records. Stafford does not have an at­tor­ney listed in on­line records. She was or­dered held with­out bond Satur­day and re­mains in cus­tody at the Jen­nifer Road De­ten­tion Cen­ter. Po­lice said the man re­fused med­i­cal treat­ment but made his way to a hos­pi­tal later for treat­ment.
