Liz grew up in Walkersvil­le, MD and married John M. Leary in 1994. He was the beloved husband of Beverly (nee Smith) Pivec; devoted father to Stacey Pivec, Matthew Pivec and Laura Inskeep; dear brother of Diane (Pivec) Buschman and her husband David. COOK, Elmer Elmer Ellsworth Cook III “Sandy”, of Hampden Maryland died on Tuesday, January 7th, 2020. Born on November 13th, 1948, he graduated Towson High and Randolf Macon College. He went on to study at the University of Maryland Dental school and graduated in 1976. He was a brilliant mariner, a beautiful skier, and loved to sing and play guitar. He loved sailing the Chesapeake Bay, travelling with his family to the Lake, enjoyed playing golf and telling stories with the friends he touched along his path. He is survived by his daughter Brigitte Cook and her husband Denny Galindo, daughter Julie Cook Goetzinger and her husband Tim, his sister Adrienne Cook Jenkins and his grandchild­ren, Emily, Sadie, Max, Desi, and Etta. He donated his body to the study of medicine. COSBY, Malcolm On December 31, 2019, Malcolm Lee Cosby, 87, departed this world after a lengthy illness at Augsburg Rehabilita­tion Center. He was a loving husband to the late Florence L. Cosby (Jackson) and leaves to mourn, Terrence (Terry), Connie Williams, Milburn A. Matthews Sr, and Gwendolyn Suite. Malcolm served the city of Baltimore as a Guard Baltimore City Jail, Police Officer, Court Commission­er, and finally working for MTA until retiring. On January 16, 2020, the family will receive friends for a “Memorial Service”. 11:00 - 11:30 is Family Hour followed by Memorial Services at Vaughn C. THURSBY, Emily Jane Emily Jane Thursby, 70, of Atlanta, GA, passed away on December 25, 2019, after a long battle with cancer. Born and raised in Baltimore, Jane graduated from Friends School of Baltimore and Washington University in St. Louis. When she retired from emergency management planning, Jane moved to Atlanta, Georgia to live with her daughter, Amanda Baxter, son-in-law, Ian Zabor, and two grandchild­ren, Zoe Thomas Zabor and Thomas Baxter Zabor. When not spending time with her grandchild­ren, she continued her avid interest in genealogy. Jane gave countless hours of volunteer and teaching time to numerous organizati­ons including the Baltimore County Genealogic­al Society and The Shipleys of Maryland. She is predecease­d by her brothers Roland Edward Thursby Jr., William Allen Thursby, and George Robert Thursby as well as her parents Roland Edward Thursby Sr. and A. Gloria Stinchecum. She will be interred at Druid Ridge Cemetery in the Thursby plot. A private memorial service has been planned which will include lots of Maryland crabs and Chesapeake oysters. Born in Paoli, Indiana on September 11, 1944, to Cecil and Hazel Flick, Bob was unwavering in his support for Indiana University basketball. He received his BS and MBA from Indiana University. Bob traveled with his wife of 34 years, Jane Kirschling, to Alaska on their boat FLIKIRS and he also did the Great Loop waterway system with his beloved pug, Mugsy. Bob enjoyed golfing and in his later years, he organized double table tennis matches at his winter home in Green Cove Springs, Florida. He learned the rules of table tennis from his friend I.K. Chew who joined Bob in winning a doubles table tennis Gold Medal at the Kentucky Senior Games. WOLLENWEBE­R, Norman Davis Norman Davis Wollenwebe­r, 88, of Baltimore, MD passed away on January 11, 2020. Norman was the loving spouse of the late Anne Marie Wollenwebe­r; devoted father of Carole Wollenwebe­r, Sue Ziegler and her husband, Frank, and David C. Wollenwebe­r and his wife, Cheryl. He was the beloved grandfathe­r of Carson Ziegler, and Joshua and Kristin Wollenwebe­r. Visitation will be held at McComas Funeral Home, P.A., Abingdon, MD on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Services will be held on Thursday, January 16 at 10 am at the funeral home. He will be greatly missed by Jane and their dearest lifelong friends – John and Linda Barry and Jim and Diana Jones – and his handsome rescue dog – Frankie.
