Ail­ing Light­ning win 9th straight

Yanni Gourde scored a short-handed goal and An­drei Vasilevski­y fin­ished with 29 saves to lift the Light­ning to their ninth straight vic­tory, 3-1 over the Oil­ers on Thurs­day night in Tampa, Fla.

The Light­ning also won their 10th in a row at home.

Vasilevski­y im­proved to 18-0-2 in his last 20 starts. Pat Ma­roon and Cedric Pa­que­tte also scored for the Light­ning, who won de­spite play­ing with­out top two scor­ers Steven Stamkos and Nikita Kucherov.

Kucherov suf­fered a lower-body in­jury Tues­day, while Stamkos missed his third straight game, also with a lower-body in­jury. He did par­tic­i­pate in the team’s morn­ing skate.

The Oil­ers played their sec­ond con­sec­u­tive game with­out cap­tain Con­nor Mc­David, who’s out 2-to-3 weeks with a thigh in­jury.

Stars’ Seguin ends drought: Tyler Seguin snapped a 17-game goal drought, Ben Bishop made 27 saves and the Stars beat the host Maple Leafs 3-2.

De­nis Guri­anov and Radek Faksa also scored for the Stars, who earned their third straight vic­tory.

Leafs goal­tender Fred­erik An­der­sen stopped 16 of 19 shots af­ter miss­ing four games with a neck in­jury.

The Stars placed right wing Alexan­der Radulov on IR with an up­per-body in­jury.

The ros­ter move is retroac­tive to Tues­day, mean­ing Radulov, 33, will not be el­i­gi­ble to re­turn un­til Feb. 18.
