Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Richards, a pending unrestricted free agent, arrived in Baltimore last season after the Ravens released special teams ace Justin Bethel, a roster move intended to secure a compensatory pick in this year’s draft. When the New England Patriots signed Bethel, they released Richards, who quickly signed with the Ravens. The former Stanford standout appeared in the Ravens’ final nine games, playing at least 69% of their special teams snaps in all but one. He had just one defensive snap. Richards had five tackles and a defensive touchdown after the move to Baltimore, scoring on a botched punt by the Pittsburgh Steelers in a waterlogged Week17 win. His wife gave birth to newborn twins less than a day later. Richards, 27, is the second Ravens player re-signed this week. On Monday, safety Chuck Clark agreed to a threeyear contract extension. Defensive backlinebacker Anthony Levine Sr. and defensive back Brynden Trawick, key contributors on the Ravens’ special teams units, are also pending free agents.
