A story in Thursday’s editions about an effort to buy The Baltimore Sun included incorrect information about who founded the Abell Foundation. It was founded in 1953 by Harry C. Black, chairman of A.S. Abell Company with money made from publishing the newspaper. The Sun regrets the error.
