■ Mariners: Dylan Moore hit a solo HR and added a three-run double, Kyle Seager hit a two-run HR and the surging Mariners beat the visiting Rangers 8-4 for their first six-game winning streak since July 2019. The Mariners completed a four-game sweep of the Rangers, who have lost six straight. The Mariners are 11-3 after an 8-19 start, on their longest winning streak streak since July 24-30 last year. Moore drove in a career-high four runs, homering in the third and clearing the bases with a two-out double into the left-field corner in the fourth. It was Moore’s sixth HR this season.

■ Cubs, Cardinals: Kyle Hendricks went eight innings, and the NL Centralleading Cubs beat the second-place Cardinals 5-1. The host Cubs got just the sort of start they needed from Hendricks and closed out the five-game series on a winning note after losing three straight. They lead their longtime rivals by 21⁄

2 games. Hendricks (5-4) gave up a run and seven hits in his second straight win. He also struck out four and walked none in his 38th consecutive start with two walks or less — the most by a Cubs pitcher since at least 1901. The Cubs earned a split of the 10-game season series. Cardinals C Yadier Molina exited in the sixth with a bruised left elbow. ... Cubs OF Jason Heyward “seems to be feeling much better” after leaving Sunday’s game because he was feeling lightheaded and having difficulty breathing, manager David Ross said. Heyward was taken to a hospital, though didn’t stay overnight, and was scheduled for more tests Tuesday. Ross wouldn’t say what the illness is. “We have had no positive COVID tests, I can tell you that,” he said.

■ Phillies: Jean Segura hit a two-run HR in the 10th and drove in a career-best five runs, bailing out the Phillies’ abominable bullpen to salvage a 9-8 win over the host Mets for a four-game split. The Mets erased a 6-0 deficit against former teammate Zack Wheeler and baseball’s worst pen, taking a 7-6 lead on Jeff McNeil’s three-run HR in the seventh. Phillies rookie Alec Bohm countered with a tying single in the eighth, plating Segura before Andrew Knapp turned too wide around third and got picked off to end the inning. Segura hit his fifth HR of the season with two outs in the 10th. He also had a three-run double in the first and finished with four hits.

■ Marlins: Miguel Rojas had four hits, including a go-ahead double in the 10th inning, and the visiting Marlins beat the Braves 5-4. Pinch-hitter Adam Duvall led off the ninth with a tying HR off Brandon Kintzler (2-3), the closer’s second blown save in 11 chances. The Braves’ NL East lead was cut to two games over second-place Phillies, while the thirdplace Marlins are 21⁄

2 games behind the Phillies. ■ Blue Jays: OF Teoscar Hernandez was placed on the 10-day IL because of a left oblique strain. Hernandez was injured while swinging during his last at-bat against the Red Sox on Saturday. Hernandez, 27, leads the Blue Jays this season in HRs (14) and RBIs (27). He’s batting .308 in 39 games.
