MLB: A Manhattan judge on Thursday rejected an attempt to force Major League Baseball to return next month’s All-Star Game to Atlanta. U.S. District Judge Valerie E. Carponi ruled against a not-for-profit organization representing small businesses, saying a lawsuit had failed to provide proof that its members have suffered any injuries by the decision to move the game. The lawsuit filed May 31 alleged that MLB acted unconstitutionally when it moved the game from the Braves’ stadium to Denver after Georgia Republicans enacted a new voter suppresion law. According to the suit, businesses in the Atlanta metro region would lose $100 million because the All-Star Game wouldn’t be there.

Diamondbacks: The Diamondbacks fired hitting coach Darnell Coles and assistant Eric Hinske with the team struggling to score runs during a brutal stretch in which it has lost 30 of 35 games. The D’backs named co-hitting coaches to replace them. Rick Short was promoted from Triple-A Reno and Drew Hedman was the D’backs’ run production coordinator. The D’backs have an MLB-worst 20-43 record, and they’ve lost a franchise record 19 straight road games. The D’backs are hitting .231 as a team and scored just 12 runs over their most recent six-game trip.

Dodgers: Mookie Betts hit the 25th career leadoff HR and the visiting Dodgers kept up their dominance of the Pirates in a 6-3 win. Betts took the third pitch he saw from Mitch Keller (3-7) and sent it into the bullpen beyond the centerfield fence for his sixth HR this season. Cody Bellinger and Justin Turner had two hits each and Zack McKinstry drove in two runs as the Dodgers won their 13th straight over the Pirates. Phil Bickford picked up his first save when the game was called with one out in the top of the eighth after a rain delay of 1 hour, 15 minutes. Julio Urías (9-2) became the season’s first nine-game winner. He allowed three runs on six hits in six innings, without issuing a walk. Urías added a two-run single in the third off Keller after the Pirates intentionally walked catcher Austin Barnes to load the bases with two outs. The victory gave the Dodgers their sixth series sweep this season. It also matched their longest winning streak ever against the Pirates. They took 13 consecutive games from the Pirates from May 4-July 20, 1952, when the franchise was in Brooklyn.

Extra innings: Jean Segura hit a two-run single high off the left-field fence in the 10th and the host Phillies rallied to beat the Braves 4-3. Freddie Freeman hit a solo HR with one out in the ninth to tie it, and the Braves scored two runs off José Alvarado (5-0) on a wild pitch and passed ball in the 10th. But Alec Bohm’s RBI single off Chris Martin (0-2) in the bottom half cut it to 3-2. Odubel Herrera followed with a double down the left-field line. Segura then hit a drive to deep left-center. Zack Wheeler struck out 12 in eight dominant innings and Segura hit an RBI double in the eighth to give the Phillies a 1-0 lead but Freeman’s 14th HR erased it . ... The Rockies activated two-time All-Star SS Trevor Story from the 10-day IL . ... White Sox 2B Nick Madrigal could miss the rest of the season after tearing his right hamstring Wednesday night. The No. 4 pick in the 2018 amateur draft had been rounding into form of late, batting .365 with two HRs and 10 RBIs in his last 20 games.
