Blake Coleman singlehand­edly kept the Stanley Cup Final from being tied.

Coleman scored a one-armed, diving buzzer-beater and goaltender Andrei Vasilevski­y was the best player on the ice in making a playoff careerhigh 42 saves to put the Lightning up 2-0 on the Canadiens in the bestof-seven series with a 3-1 victory Wednesday night in Tampa, Florida.

Game 3 is Friday in Montreal.

The Kings acquired F Viktor Arvidsson, 28, from the Predators on Thursday for two draft picks.

G Davion Mintz withdrew his name from the NBA draft and will return to Kentucky next season. Mintz led the Wildcats in scoring (11.5 ppg) and assists (3.1) in 2020-21.

Cycling: Brit Mark Cavendish claimed the sixth stage of the Tour de France in a mass sprint, taking his impressive career tally in the prestigous race to 32 stage wins. Golf: In his third PGA Tour event as a pro, 22-year-old Davis Thompson shot a 9-under 63 to take the clubhouse lead at the Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit. Thompson matched the course record at Detroit Golf Club. Play in the first round was suspended due to darkness. Defending champ Bryson DeChambeau, who parted ways with caddie Tim Tucker on Wednesday, shot a 72 . ... Four days after losing the No. 1 ranking for the first time in nearly two years, Jin Young Ko shot an opening-round 8-under 63 to take a one-stroke lead at the LPGA’s Volunteers of America Classic in The Colony, Texas.

NFL: The NFL fined the Jaguars, 49ers and Cowboys for organized team activities violations.
