Steelers rally past Bills

Ben Roethlisbe­rger and his new-look offense overcame a slow start, Ulysees Gilbert returned a blocked punt 9 yards for a touchdown, and the Steelers rallied to a season-opening 23-16 win over the Bills on Sunday in Orchard Park, New York.

Down 10-0, the Steelers scored on each of their first four possession­s of the second half, with Roethlisbe­rger putting the visitors ahead for good by lobbing a 5-yard TD pass to Diontae Johnson in the left corner of the end zone.

Chiefs 33, Browns 29:

Patrick Mahomes threw for 337 yards and three TDs while running for another score, and the Chiefs came back from a dismal first half to win the rematch of their divisional playoff game from January. Travis Kelce hauled in a pair of TD catches, including the go-ahead score with 7:02 left as the Chiefs finished off their rally from a 22-10 halftime deficit.

Cardinals 38, Titans 13: Kyler Murray totaled five TDs and LB Chandler Jones had a career-high five sacks, which tied the Cardinals’ franchise record.

Seahawks 28, Colts 16: Russell Wilson threw three of his four TDs in the first half to power the Seahawks.

49ers 41, Lions 33: Dre Greenlaw returned an INT for a TD to help the 49ers score 17 points over two-plus minutes late in the first half. The 49ers led 38-10 early in the fourth and allowed the Lions to score 23 points in three-plus minutes.

Texans 37, Jaguars 21: Tyrod Taylor threw for 291 yards and two TDs in a win over

Trevor Lawrence and the Jags. Lawrence, the No. 1 pick in the draft, threw for 332 yards and three TDs but also tossed three INTs.

Chargers 20, WFT 16: Justin Herbert threw for 337 yards and a TD to key the Chargers. Washington lost starting QB Ryan Fitzpatric­k late to a hip injury.

Eagles 32, Falcons 6: Jalen Hurts threw three TD passes, the first of them to Heisman winner DeVonta Smith, and the Eagles made a winner of Nick Sirianni in his head coaching debut.

Bengals 27, Vikings 24: Evan McPherson kicked a 33-yard FG as time expired in OT.

Panthers 19, Jets 14: Sam Darnold threw for 279 yards and a TD and ran for another score against his former team. After missing

13 games last season due to injuries, Christian McCaffrey piled up 187 yards from scrimmage in the victory. The Panthers sacked Jets QB Zach Wilson, the No. 2 pick in the draft, six times.

Saints 38, Packers 7: Jameis Winston threw for five TDs and the hurricane-displaced Saints routed the Packers in Jacksonvil­le, Fla. The Saints defense intercepte­d league MVP Aaron Rodgers twice.

Broncos 27, Giants 13: Teddy Bridgewate­r threw two TDs in his first start for the Broncos. Melvin Gordon III added a late 70-yard TD run in the win.

Dolphins 17, Patriots 16: Tua Tagovailoa threw a go-ahead TD pass to Jaylen Waddle in the third and Xavien Howard recovered a fumble with the Pats driving in the fourth to help the Dolphins hold on.
