Finding a new home
In the early morning hours Thursday, the retired Baltimore City fireboat “Thomas D’Alesandro Jr.” was moved from Sparrows Point/Tradepoint Atlantic to its new permanent home at The Fire Museum of Maryland in Lutherville. The original 104-foot-long fireboat was cut down to 38 feet long and delivered in three separate sections. Over the next few years, the fireboat will be restored, have exhibits installed and will be opened to visitors.
