Steady Homa claims 4th PGA Tour victory

Max Homa played solid, steady golf during a week of cold, wet conditions and a back-and-forth Sunday duel with Keegan Bradley, closing with a 2-under 68 for a two-shot victory at the Wells Fargo Championsh­ip near Washington.

A new star on the PGA Tour whose only missing achievemen­t is contention in a major, Homa, 31, finished at 8-under 272 at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm. He won for the fourth time and third time in 15 months.

College football: Former Baylor QB Gerry Bohanon will transfer to South Florida. Bohanon, who has two seasons of eligibilit­y remaining, was 10-2 as starter last season and led the Bears to a Big 12 title and Sugar Bowl win.

NBA: The Kings will hire Warriors assistant Mike Brown as their coach, according to reports. Brown previously had two stints as head coach of the Cavaliers, guind them to them to the league finals in 2007, and had one stint as coach of the Lakers.

NHL: Brad Marchand had two goals and three assists, including the tiebreaker early in the third period, and the host Bruins beat the Hurricanes 5-2 to even their first-round playoff series at 2-2. The Bruins were playing without their top two defenseman after Charlie McAvoy was a last-minute scratch and joined Hampus Lindholm on the sideline, but they twice rallied for their second straight playoff win. Rookie Jeremy Swayman made 23 saves. Hurricanes G Antti Raanta returned after exiting Game 2 with an injury and stopped 23 shots . ... Jordan Kyrou and David Perron each scored twice, Jordan Binnington made 28 saves in his first start this postseason and the Blues beat the visiting Wild 5-2 to even the series at 2-2.
