Wilson leads CMA Awards nomination­s

Louisiana native Lainey Wilson is having a breakout year as she tops the Country Music Associatio­n Awards nomination­s in her first year as a nominee, earning nods in six categories including album of the year, female vocalist of the year and song of the year.

Wilson is only the fourth artist in the history of the CMAs to earn six nomination­s in her first year, following Glen Campbell, Brad Paisley and Kacey Musgraves. She’s also up for new artist of the year, music video and musical event.

Other leading nominees include Ashley McBryde, Carly Pearce, Chris Stapleton and writer-producer Shane McAnally, who all have nomination­s in five categories. The CMA Awards, hosted by Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning, will air Nov. 9 on ABC.

Thinkin’ ” last year earned her critical accolades, spurred on by the success of her country radio No. 1 hit “Things a Man Oughta Know.” Her next album, “Bell Bottom Country,” is due out in October.

Clarkson announces new music for 2023:

Kelly Clarkson is currently gearing up for the fourth season premiere of her talk show, but she’s also ready to bring new music to her fans.

In an exclusive interview for Variety, Clarkson revealed that she has recorded a new album, which she plans to release in 2023.

The album will mark Clarkson’s first major studio album in more than five years, following 2017’s “Meaning of Life.”

Clarkson told Variety that her upcoming album is two years in the making.

Her new music is inspired by the emotional journey she went through during her divorce from her ex-husband, music manager Brandon Blackstock, with whom she shares two young children.

Bieber suspends remainder of tour to recover from condition:

Justin Bieber has suspended the rest of his world tour to focus on his health.

A day after he posted photos from his Brazil performanc­e at the Rock in Rio festival, he told

TMZ he was canceling the remaining 70 shows scheduled through March 2023 in South America, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Europe.

The tour had first been beset by delays due to the pandemic. Then, the 28-year-old singer began touring in March, but postponed the North American leg in June after being diagnosed with Ramsay

Hunt syndrome, which caused facial paralysis.

Groban to star in Broadway revival of ‘Sweeney Todd’: Singer-actor Josh Groban will star in the 2023 production of “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street” alongside Tony winner Annaleigh Ashford, producers announced Tuesday.
