Rookie DT Jones returns; 3 starters absent

-

Ravens rookie defensive tackle Travis Jones returned to practice for the first time in three weeks Wednesday and was a limited participant.

Jones, a third-round draft pick who impressed in training camp, injured his knee in the team’s second preseason game and missed the Ravens’ season opener.

Harbaugh said it was great to see Jones back at practice, adding: “He looked good out here. I will have to look at the tape to see exactly, but he has done a great job in his rehab and we will see if he is ready to play or not.”

Fullback Patrick Ricard (calf ), outside linebacker Justin Houston (rest) and defensive lineman Calais Campbell (rest) did not practice. Cornerback Marcus Peters (knee), wide receiver James Proche II (groin), left tackle Ronnie Stanley (ankle) and defensive back Brandon Stephens (quad) were limited participants.

In Miami Gardens, Florida, the Dolphins were missing starting left tackle Terron Armstead (toe/rest) and starting right tackle Austin Jackson (ankle) at practice Wednesday. Jackson left Sunday’s 20-7 win over the New England Patriots with an ankle injury in the second quarter and did not return. Armstead left the game briefly with an undisclosed lower-body injury but returned.

Dolphins tight end Cethan Carter (concussion), wide receiver Cedrick Wilson (toe), running back Salvon Ahmed (heel) and outside linebacker Melvin Ingram (rest) also did not practice. Safety Eric Rowe (pectoral) and tight end Tanner Conner (knee) were limited while offensive tackle Greg Little (ankle) was a full participant.
