Hans Steffen, who started Christkindlmarkt at Zion Lutheran Church 25 years ago, charms Rosellia Henson, 11 months old, as her mother, Sarah Henson, of Lutherville, looks on. The Henson family was shopping for holiday treats imported from Germany at the Christmas marketplace. Under the brick arches of the historic downtown church, visitors enjoyed goulash, wursts, stollen slices, gingerbread, and imported German beer and wine. Proceeds benefit the church and Baltimore Kickers, a German American social club.
