Bengals hold off Titans

Joe Burrow threw a 27-yard touchdown pass to Tee Higgins with 13:42 left and the Bengals held off the Titans 20-16 in Nashville for their third straight victory and fifth in six games.

The defending AFC champion Bengals (7-4) were without running back Joe Mixon, who’s in the concussion protocol, and receiver Ja’Marr Chase, who’s out with a hip injury. The Titans fell to 7-4. The Bengals smothered NFL rushing leader Derrick Henry yet again, holding him to 38 yards, his second-lowest total of the season.

Browns 23, Buccaneers 17:

Nick Chubb ran for a 3-yard TD with 19 seconds left in OT, and the host Browns rallied for the victory in QB Jacoby Brissett’s final start before Deshaun Watson returns from his 11-game suspension.

Jaguars 28, Ravens 27: Trevor Lawrence connected with Marvin Jones for a 10-yard TD with 14 seconds left and hit Zay Jones for a 2-point conversion as the Jags held on at home. The Ravens’ Justin Tucker missed a 67-yard FG try on the last play that would have broken his own record for the longest FG in NFL history.

Jets 31, Bears 10: Mike White threw three TD passes, including two to Garrett Wilson, as the Jets cruised to the victory. White made his first start since last season in place of the benched Zach Wilson and sparked the hosts to a season-high 466 yards. Trevor Siemian started at QB for the Bears in place of Justin Fields, who was out with an injury.

Dolphins 30, Texans 15: Tua Tagovailoa threw for 299 yards as the host Dolphins built a 30-0 lead and claimed their fifth straight win.

Commanders 19, Falcons 13: Taylor Heinicke threw two TD passes in a run-heavy game in the rain, Kendall Fuller intercepte­d Marcus Mariota in the end zone with 58 seconds left and the host Commanders earned their sixth win in seven games.

Panthers 23, Broncos 10: Sam Darnold threw for a TD and recovered his own fumble for another score in his first game of the season, lifting the Panthers at home.

Chiefs 26, Rams 10: Patrick Mahomes threw for 320 yards and a TD and Isiah Pacheco also ran for a score to lead the host Chiefs. The Rams were without QB Matthew Stafford, who’s in the concussion protocol. The Rams have lost five straight.

49ers 13, Saints 0: The 49ers forced two fumbles from Alvin Kamara to become the first team in nearly 21 years to hold the visting Saints scoreless. It was the 49ers’ fourth straight win. Chargers 25, Cardinals 24: Justin Herbert threw a 1-yard TD pass to Austin Ekeler with 15 seconds remaining and then hit Gerald Everett for a 2-point conversion to give the Chargers the road victory.

Raiders 40, Seahawks 34:

RB Josh Jacobs sprinted 86 yards for a game-ending TD and the visiting Raiders won in OT for the second straight week. Jacobs finished with a franchise-record 229 yards rushing and two scores. He also had six catches for 74 yards, and his 303 yards from scrimmage were the most in franchise history and the seventh-most in an NFL game in the Super Bowl era.
