‘Power of Protest’
Yevgeny Kalinsky, of Silver Spring, attending the exhibit “Power of Protest: The Movement to Free Soviet Jews” on Sunday at the Jewish Museum of Maryland, looks at a 1971 photo of Soviet Jews arriving at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York. Kalinsky, part of a wave of Jewish refugees fleeing the USSR, came from Odesa to Rockville in 1988 with his wife and two children. The exhibit is on view through Feb. 5.
