Katherine Fahey performs “Talk to the Bees” with her Lantern Sisters partner, Dan Van Allen, behind the screen, at the ninth annual Baltimore Crankie Festival at Creative Alliance, which was sold out a month in advance. Crankies, a folk art of scrolled panoramas to tell a story or illustrate a song, receives a contemporary twist at Creative Alliance, which also offers workshops on the art of crankies.
