Historic swearing-in
Brooke Lierman takes the oath of office Monday as Maryland’s first female comptroller. The oath is administered by outgoing Gov. Larry Hogan, left, and witnessed by Lierman’s husband, Eben Hansel, daughter, Eliza, 5, and son, Teddy, 10, outside the Goldstein Treasury Building in Annapolis. Lierman, a Democrat, spent the past eight years in the House of Delegates representing South Baltimore.
