Harbaugh says he’s staying at Michigan
Jim Harbaugh is staying at Michigan, a decision he personally gave the school president on Monday to end another round of speculation that he would return to the NFL.
Harbaugh and the school haven’t reached an agreement on a contract extension, but both sides plan to work on a new deal this week, the AP reported.
The NFL’s Broncos and Panthers spoke with Harbaugh about their head coaching vacancies this month and he was mentioned as a potential candidate for the Colts.
The 59-year-old Harbaugh has a 74-25 record in eight seasons with the Wolverines, who made the College Football Playoffs the last two seasons.
Golf: Si Woo Kim shot a final-round 6-under 64 to earn a one-shot victory at the Sony Open on Sunday in Honolulu. It was the 27-year-old Kim’s fourth career PGA Tour title.
NBA: Jayson Tatum had 51 points including seven 3-pointers, and the Celtics beat the host Hornets 130-118. It was the Eastern Conference-leading Celtics’ seventh straight victory. It was the fifth game of Tatum’s career in which he scored at least 50 points . ... Two-time league MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo missed a third straight game because of left knee soreness, but the Bucks still beat the visiting Pacers 132-119.
NFL: The Cardinals hired Monti Ossenfort as the team’s new GM. The 44-year-old Ossenfort spent the last three seasons as director of player personnel for the Titans . ... Bengals LT Jonah Williams is week to week with a dislocated left kneecap. His status for this weekend’s divisional-round playoff game against the Bills remains up in the air.
NHL: The Wild signed winger Matt Boldy to a seven-year, $49 million contract extension through the 202930 season. Boldy, 21, has 12 goals and 17 assists in 42 games this season.
