Seacrest to exit ‘Live’ show in spring

-

Ryan Seacrest has revealed he’s leaving “Live with Kelly and Ryan” this spring, saying he never expected to stay so long and thanking his co-host Kelly Ripa.

Seacrest ends a six-year run alongside Ripa. His replacement will be Ripa’s husband and frequent guest host, Mark Consuelos. The show will be rebranded as “Live with Kelly and Mark.”

“I’m going to miss my work wife and all the laughter we share,” Seacrest wrote on Instagram. “When I signed on to host ‘Live’ in 2017 it was meant to be for three years, but I loved the job and working with Kelly so much that I extended my time and last year I made the decision to stay on for one more final season.”

Seacrest said he’ll stay busy with the new season of “American Idol,” his radio show on KIIS-FM and the annual program “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.”

ABC’s “Live with Kelly and Ryan” is the No. 1 daytime talk show per household and in total viewership.

Ripa has hosted “Live” since 2001, first with Regis

Philbin and later with Michael Strahan.

“I’m so grateful to have spent the last six years beside my dear friend of too many decades to count and will miss starting my days with Ryan,” Ripa said in a statement.

Gorman writes children’s book:

Amanda Gorman’s next literary project is a collaboration on a children’s book coming out this fall. Viking Children’s Books announced Wednesday that “Something, Someday,” by Gorman and illustrator Christian Robinson, is slated for release Sept. 26.

Viking is calling the book “a message of hope” about the ability to make a difference in a troubled world.

“I wrote ‘Something, Someday’ to show that though it might be difficult, when we work together, even the smallest acts of kindness can lead to the largest positive change,” Gorman, 24, said in a statement.

Gorman, known for her poem “The Hill We Climb,” has also published a poetry collection “Call Us What We Carry” and the children’s book “Change Sings.” Robinson has illustrated books such as “Last Stop on Market Street,” written by Matt de la Pena, and “The Bench,” written by Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex.
