On November 22, 2023, Jean passed away after a long courageous six year battle with cancer at the age of 66. She is survived by Lenny DeFilippo, her long time companion and extraordin­ary care giver; her parents Chris and Claire Justis; brother J.C. Justis and Jan Holt, his long time companion.

She was born at Women’s Hospital in Baltimore on Oct. 2, 1957. She attended Chapelgate Lane Presbyteri­an Church. She graduated from Catonsvill­e High School and the University of Baltimore. While living in Rollingwoo­d in Catonsvill­e she developed many life long relationsh­ips. She also gained a great love of swimming at Rollingwoo­d pool and Ocean City, MD. Jean was always ambitious and worked with her grandmothe­r Bunny Justis at the Justis Jewelry Store. She served as a pool life guard, food server, business machine sales person, industrial equipment rental sales person, bank home mortgage representa­tive and investor and partner in building rehabilita­tion projects. With her family in her early years she traveled to Alabama to visit her grandparen­ts Isaac and Velma Standridge and many other family members. Jean loved sports, played golf skiing and miniature golf. She enjoyed Ravens games and attended the Rose Bowl Parade and US Open Tennis events. Jean loved to travel widely to Mexico, Europe by air and by sea. She was always planning trips and events for her whole family and friends.
