CALAMBRO, Jean Justis
On November 22, 2023, Jean passed away after a long courageous six year battle with cancer at the age of 66. She is survived by Lenny DeFilippo, her long time companion and extraordinary care giver; her parents Chris and Claire Justis; brother J.C. Justis and Jan Holt, his long time companion.
She was born at Women’s Hospital in Baltimore on Oct. 2, 1957. She attended Chapelgate Lane Presbyterian Church. She graduated from Catonsville High School and the University of Baltimore. While living in Rollingwood in Catonsville she developed many life long relationships. She also gained a great love of swimming at Rollingwood pool and Ocean City, MD. Jean was always ambitious and worked with her grandmother Bunny Justis at the Justis Jewelry Store. She served as a pool life guard, food server, business machine sales person, industrial equipment rental sales person, bank home mortgage representative and investor and partner in building rehabilitation projects. With her family in her early years she traveled to Alabama to visit her grandparents Isaac and Velma Standridge and many other family members. Jean loved sports, played golf skiing and miniature golf. She enjoyed Ravens games and attended the Rose Bowl Parade and US Open Tennis events. Jean loved to travel widely to Mexico, Europe by air and by sea. She was always planning trips and events for her whole family and friends.
