Oceans Calling Festival in Ocean City headliners set for September

- By Michelle Deal-Zimmerman

The Killers, Blink-182 and the Dave Matthews Band will headline the 2024 Oceans Calling Festival when it returns this fall to Ocean City.

Last year some 50,000 people attended the beachfront music festival, a weekend of entertainment on multiple stages. The event took place for the first time in 2023, a year later than expected after organizers were forced to cancel the inaugural festival in 2022 due to remnants of Hurricane Ian.

One of the headliners that had been set to appear in 2022 was the Dave

Matthews Band, which will make its debut at this year’s Oceans Calling Festival.

Other acts set to entertain at the music festival Sept. 27-29 include Cage The Elephant, Sublime, The Offspring, Mt. Joy, Counting Crows, 311, Boyz II Men, O.A.R., Lisa Loeb, Big Head Todd and The Monsters, The Beach Boys and Barenaked Ladies.

In all, three dozen performers will take to one of three the stages. In addition, Robert Irvine, host of “Restaurant of Impossible” on Food Network, celebrity chef Amanda Freitag and chef Marc Murphy, a judge frequently seen on “Chopped,” will present cooking demonstrations in an event hosted by actor Jason Biggs. Local food vendors will also be on tap. The Jolly Roger at the Pier amusement park and the boardwalk will remain accessible during the festival, with admission to Jolly Roger included in the ticket price.

Tickets go on sale Thursday at 10 a.m. Admission is offered in one-day, threeday, VIP, Platinum and Ultimate packages. VIP packages include admission to lounges and air-conditioned restrooms, plus the ability to purchase drinks from a private bar.

One-day general admission tickets start at $160. Three-day tickets start at $299. A multiday VIP package starts at $875.
