JAMES FERRARA
James Ferrara and his identical twin began learning about art from their grandfather, who lived with James’ family and would o en draw and sketch. Besides his grandfather, Ferrara’s influences include baroque painters, “in particular Caravaggio and Rembrandt,” he says. “My style leans towards Chiaroscuro, for the dramatic effect in the use of strong contrasts between light and dark.”
Notre Dame commissioned Ferrara to paint the famous “ e Four Horsemen” which hangs on the wall at the
university. His work also is displayed in the permanent collection of the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame and the Yogi Berra Museum and Learning Center, among other galleries and museums.
“I want sports fans to connect emotionally to my work,” James says. “If I am successful, my artwork connects with them to a special sports memory or transports them to a time or place that brings them joy. at is why much of my work focuses on championships.”
