2022 TOPPS CHROME UPDATE

2022 Topps Chrome Update Baseball is continuing with the late-season’s line of offering a shiny spin on the flagship Update set. While the content will hit a lot of familiar beats, the distribution is getting a big change.

In the past, it has been a primarily an exclusive for Target. It’ll still be available there this year, but Topps Chrome Update is getting a hobby release as well.

The base set can be seen in a couple of ways. It’s primarily a Chrome twist on 2022 Topps Update. However, one could also view it as an extension of the existing 2022 Topps Chrome Baseball release as well.

Refractors come in multiple levels. Hobby and Mega Box packs have one Purple Refractor per pack while fivepack Hanger Boxes are the exclusive place to find Pink Wave Refractors. e full slate includes:

Autographs are also available on the checklist, however they’re not as big a focus as the main Chrome set. In Update, they’re not a guaranteed box hit. Rather, signatures are more of a potential bonus. ese also have a Refractors rainbow including one-of-one Superfractors.

Additional inserts take from flagship Update, putting chromium on the 2022 All-Star Game, Diamond Greats (which are list as die-cuts, but they’re not) and Generation Now sets. Inserts combine to fall every other hobby pack.
