10 CAREER DEFINING MARC ANDRE FLEURY CARDS

- BY AL MUIR

Sure, Connor McDavid has plenty of fans. So do Alex Ovechkin, Sidney Crosby, and Carey Price. But if push came to shove, you could make a pretty good case for Marc-Andre Fleury being hockey’s most widely beloved player. The top pick in the 2003 Draft has been one of the league’s premier performers over his 17 NHL seasons, helping the Pittsburgh Penguins to three Stanley Cups and winning a Vezina Trophy in 2021 on his way to becoming just the third goalie in history to record 500 career victories.

Fleury started slowly this season, his first with the Blackhawks after spending the past four in Vegas, but he’s rounding nicely into form. On Jan. 8, Fleury returned to Vegas where he stopped 31 shots to lead Chicago to a 2-1 win over his former mates. With that, he became the first goalie to record a victory over all 32 teams.

There’s never been a better time to collect Fleury. But with so many different cards to pursue – nearly 4,700 base, parallel, autograph, relic, and oddball singles in total – building out a Flower collection can be overwhelming. Looking for a little guidance? These 10 cards serve as an excellent representation of his playing career, making them the foundation of an enviable Fleury PC.
