PANINI FIFA GOLD STANDARD SOCCER HAS THE MIDAS TOUCH

-

2019-20 Panini FIFA Gold Standard Soccer cards bring over another new brand to the sport. Like Gold Standard sets in basketball and football, autographs and memorabilia cards are a major focus, but not the only one. Hobby boxes are single-pack affairs, each with seven cards. Of those, three are hits. Inserts and parallels are also in every box.

Gold Standard is a product that draws from several national teams, including the United States, Germany, Brazil and Argentina. There are also some clubs present as well, such as Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester United.

The main base set has 100 cards. Cards have 129 copies, all serial numbered.

Beyond that are four levels of goldthemed parallels: AU (/79), Fine (/29), Mint (/19) and one-of-one Pure. AUTOGRAPHS AND MEMORABILIA CARDS That focus on signatures and swatches comes through on the checklist. On just the autograph front, 2019-20 Gold Standard Soccer has 14 different themes.

Gold Medals has one of the more comprehensive lineups of international players. Base versions have no more than 129 copies each with additional version available in Fine (/29 or less), Mint (/19 or less) and Pure (1/1).

For those with a preference for on-card autographs, there’s Gold Strike Signatures. JERSEY AUTOGRAPHS ADD MEMORABILIA.

Other autograph inserts include 14K Autographs, 24K Autographs, Golden Goals, Golden Opportunities, Golden Goals, Golden Gloves and Golden Duals. These are tough. All come numbered to 25 or less. Needless to say, the “gold” theme is consistent throughout the checklist.

Of the promised hits, at least one is a memorabilia card. Among them is Molten Memorabilia, which has AU (/79 or less), Fine (/29 or less), Mint (/19 or less) and Pure (1/1).

Bullion Brand and Bullion Brand Signatures both have premium jumbo swatches. They’re also all one-of-ones.
