EJ LID­DELL SCORES 42 POINTS TO LEAD BELLEVILLE WEST TO WIN

A lit­tle over a week af­ter scor­ing a ca­reer-high 39 points, Belleville West se­nior EJ Lid­dell took his game to an­other level and the Ma­roons to an­other win on Fri­day in the Blue- grass state.

Lid­dell scored 42 points and added 16 re­bounds as the de­fend­ing Class 4A state cham­pion Ma­roons de­feated North Hop­kins High School of Madis­onville, Ken­tucky, 77-60, at the Mar­shall County Hoops­fest.

The dou­ble-dou­ble is the fourth in five games for Lid­dell, an Ohio State Univer­sity com­mit, who opened the sea­son with a then-ca­reer best 39 points against Urbana at the Wash­ing­ton Tour­na­ment of Cham­pi­ons.

He’s now av­er­ag­ing 31.6 points, 12 re­bounds and 4.2 blocked shots.

Lid­dell made 18 of 26 shots from the field on Fri­day. Se­nior Will Shumpert added 10 points for Belleville West (5-0) which takes on Call­away, Mis­sis­sippi at 5:30 p.m. Satur­day at the Mar­shall County, Ken­tucky event.
