Lorene Cather­ine John­son of O’Fal­lon, Illi­nois, passed away Novem­ber 21, 2018 at her res­i­dence. She was born in Glen Cross­ing, Illi­nois on Novem­ber 5, 1924.

Lorene, known to her class­mates as "Teka", was an ac­com­plished busi­ness woman and home­maker. She main­tained a life­long at­ti­tude of "al­ways do the best you can at what­ever you do."

Lorene mar­ried Her­man F. Neubauer in 1945 and he pre-de­ceased her in 1968. Lorene re­mar­ried to Harold Tent­ing in 1970 and was again wid­owed in 1977. Lorene then re­mar­ried Clay­ton John­son in 1979, and they en­joyed 39 years of mar­riage un­til Clay­ton’s death on Novem­ber 4, 2018. Lorene and Clay­ton resided in Port St. Lu­cie, Flor­ida for 20 years be­fore re­turn­ing home to Illi­nois 10 years ago.

She was pre­ceded in death by her par­ents John Mateyka and Min­nie (Ernst) Mateyka, and her two sib­lings, Melvin Mateyka and Lav­erne Veith.

Lorene is sur­vived by her two sons, Terry J. Neubauer (El­iz­a­beth Laney) of Swansea, Illi­nois and Tim­o­thy R. Neubauer (Jon Ann) of Mt. Ver­non, Illi­nois; grand­chil­dren, Stacy A. Kitchens (Jimmy), Al­li­son Gonzales (Ed­uardo), Nicole Pfaudler (John), and Todd A. Neubauer (Ja­nine); and great-grand­chil­dren, Wen­ton, Dy­lan, Jorge, Ed­uardo, Jack, Tim, Gia, Alex and Dax.

A spe­cial men­tion and heart­felt thank you to Clay­ton’s chil­dren Kayla Ko­er­ber (nee John­son) for her stead­fast as­sis­tance, and to Kevin John­son for his price­less, lov­ing care given to our mother, Lorene, and to his fa­ther, Clay­ton; the Col­lanades in O’Fal­lon, Illi­nois and the Hospice care­givers.
