Louise Susan Davis Green, nee Rable, 100, of Belleville, IL, formerly of Highland, IL, born October 23, 1918, in Lebanon, IL, died Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at St. Paul’s Home, Belleville, IL. Louise lived in Grafton on the Mississippi River for many years. She loved to hunt, fish, sing, and dance. She enjoyed adventures and had traveled up and down the Mississippi River by motorboat to New Orleans three different times in her life.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles A. "Jeff" Davis, whom she married July 28, 1938, who died in 1964; her second husband, Melville J. "Jack" Green, whom she married October 19, 1972, who died in 1985; her parents, John and Bessie, nee Schempp, Rable; three brothers, William "Bud" Rable, John "Jack" Rable, and Edward Rable; five sisters, Lillian Rable, Hester Rable Feltman, Marguerite Rable Conklin, Lottie Rable Ruiz, and Evelyn Rable Sabaleski Raterman; and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Newman "Midge" Conklin, William Feltman, Catherine Brichler Rable, Edwina "Eddie" Raterman Rable, Prudencio A. Ruiz, and Doris Rutledge.
Surviving are her nieces and nephews, William Rable of Alton, IL, Scott (Sandra) Conklin of Dawson Springs, KY, William Conklin of Caseyville, IL, Steven Rable of Red Bud, IL, Dian Rable (Edward) Metzger of Belleville, IL, Lois Mae Feltman Rizzie of Hazelwood, MO, Virginia Feltman Honer of Belleville, IL, Carol Feltman Elledge of San Jose, CA, and Judy Rable (Joe) Eisenhour of Mountain Grove, MO; greatnieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of the memory care unit at St. Paul’s Home, Belleville, IL, for the loving attention they gave Louise. She happily lived to celebrate her 100th birthday at St. Paul’s, and her family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation.
