SPORTS Former Belleville West kicker Seibert earns Big 12 Conference honor
The 2018 college football season keeps getting better and Better for Oklahoma University senior Austin Seibert.
A 2015 graduate of Belleville West, Seibert added another honor to his growing list of accomplishments Wednesday when he was named the Big 12 Conference Special Teams Player of the Year.
Seibert, a four-year starter, established several national and school records as a senior.
During a win over Texas Tech Nov. 3, Seibert broke the NCAA record holder for career extra points (302) and extra point attempts (307).
He entered the following week’s game against Oklahoma State needing just four points to set the OU scoring record. Seibert topped the record with 36-yard field goal in the second quarter.
His 12 total points in the game also made him the Big 12 Conference all-time scoring leader.
The performance increased Seibert’s career points total to 458. Baylor’s Aaron Jones (201013) and TCU’s Jaden Oberkrom (2012-15) shared the previous Big 12 record of 451 points. Michael Hunnicutt (2011-14) held the former OU record of 450 points.

Oklahoma place kicker Austin Seibert leads the Big 12 in scoring with 115 points and has converted on 12 of his 14 field goal attempts, with his longest of the season (42 yards) coming at Iowa State.
