OMAHA, Neb. – The Bryant Black Sox moved to 2-2 in the Creighton Prep Pre-regional Tournament with a 9-0 shutout over the Bozeman Bucks (Montana) and a 5-4 loss to Brandon Valley (South Dakota)
Friday in Omaha, Nebraska. The Black Sox defeated the Cheyenne Sixers 2-1 on Thursday and fell 5-3 to host Creighton Prep on Wednesday.
On Friday, Bryant’s Logan Grant, recently pitching a nohitter, would hold Bozeman to one hit in the 9-0 win. Grant also walked one in the shutout, striking out nine in five complete innings.
The Black Sox (9-4) took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when leadoff man Noah Davis singled to start and stole second before a strikeout and fly out ensued. Jake Wright walked before Davis took third on a wild pitch and scored on an error on the same play for the 1-0 lead after one.

Ryan Riggs walked, Coby Greiner doubled and Lawson Speer walked to load the bases. Davis followed with a 2-run single and Logan Catton doubled in two more for the 5-0 lead after two.
Gage Stark doubled to start the bottom of the third and later scored on a wild pitch for the 6-0 lead, and the Sox capped their scoring
in the fourth inning when Peyton Dillon hit a 2-run double and later scored on Riggs’ RBI single for the 9-0 final.
Davis finished 2 for 3 with two runs and two RBIS, while Catton and Dillon both went 1 for 3 with two RBIS apiece. Stark and Riggs both had a hit each in the win.
Brandon Valley, 5, Black Sox 4
Holding a 4-3 lead after five innings, Bryant’s five errors would come back to haunt the Black Sox as they fell 5-4 to Brandon Valley in their second game Thursday.
Down 3-1 after three innings, Wright started the fourth with a double and went to third on Dillon’s ground out. After a strikeout, Stark hit a two-out RBI triple to get Bryant within
3-2 after four.

Brandon Valley would tie things up the next inning scoring its only earned run of the game on a sacrifice fly, and two walks and an error in the seventh would lead to a walk-off sacrifice fly.
