Jean Edens, age 90, of Benton, formerly of Little Rock, passed away Monday, July 1, 2019 at Saline Hospice. She was born October 28, 1928, to John Johnson and Lillie Ann Sharp Shipp. Jean was a homemaker, Avon saleswoman, and worked at Vivian Pierce Children’s Clothing Store in Little Rock. She was a member of the Church of Christ, and was married to a gospel preacher and was a loving devoted preacher’s wife. She was always right by his side, supporting him, wherever he traveled to preach the gospel and spread the word. Jean’s family was very important to her.

Other than her parents she was preceded by her husband, Charles Albert Edens, two brothers, John Shipp, Johnny Paul Shipp, three sisters, Oleda Tyree, Otheda Roe, and Ann Edens.

Survivors include her brothers, Jerome Shipp (wife Lynda) of Lynn Haven, Florida, and Henry Shipp of Little Rock, and nieces Marlanna and Tammy who were like daughters, along with numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday July 8, 10:00-11:00 am at Regency Funeral Home.

Graveside Services will be Monday July 8, 1:00 pm Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander with Leroy Roe officiatin­g.
