School board to consider building expansion
The Benton School Board will consider a proposed ninth grade expansion during its last school board meeting before the start of the 2019-20 school year.
Little Rock-based Nabholz Construction has submitted a budget summary totaling $9,265,127 for the project.
The documents also include proposed deductive alternates, as well as subcontractor and supplier bid results. If approved, the project is expected to take 58 weeks to complete from the date of notice to proceed.
Benton High School Principal Curt Barger will present a Panther Pride Award to Ryan Taneja.
Taneja won first place in the 201819 International Aviation Art contest for the state of Arkansas. He competed in Category III with other 14 to 17-year-old students from across the state. This is the fourth time that Taneja has won the competition.
Other items on the agenda include:
• A contract disclosure for Holly Burris.
• Student transfer requests.
• The appointment of Chris Hinson as district treasurer.
• Personnel recommandations.
• Departmental reports.
The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Professional Development Building, located at 211 North Border St.
