Local Realtor announces state representative campaign
Local Realtor and lifelong Saline County resident Lance Penfield announced his candidacy for state representative earlier this week. Penfield, a Republican, is running in House District 31, which includes parts of Saline and Pulaski Counties.
“I want our kids and grandkids to grow up and enjoy the same quality of life as us,” said Penfield. “To accomplish that, we must continue making positive strides in education, infrastructure, and job recruitment across the state.”
Co-owner and Executive Broker of Baxley-penfieldmoudy Realtors, Penfield has been involved in the community his entire professional career. He is a former chairman of the Saline Memorial Hospital Board and the Bryant Planning Commission. Additionally, he has served on the boards for Arkansas Heart Hospital Foundation, First Security Bank’s Saline County Board, Bryant House Senior Adult Center, Bryant Chamber of Commerce, Benton/bryant Realtors Association, and Rotary Clubs.
Penfield cited his work experience as giving him an understanding of what it will take to continue growing Arkansas’ economy saying he has “firsthand experience when working through governmental requirements in the development of commercial properties. It shouldn’t be a struggle to bring new jobs and commerce into this state. While things have improved under Governor (Asa) Hutchinson, there is more that can continue to be done to improve economic growth in Arkansas.”
Calling himself a conservative, Penfield says voters can count on him to “protect life and the second amendment, and work towards lower taxes and less government spending.”
Penfield and his wife Lawanda have been married for 29 years. They have one daughter and one grandson. They are members of New Life Church of Saline County. He enjoys spending time with family, fishing and hunting in Arkansas, and collecting guns.
