BRYANT DROPS TWO CENTRAL contests
CONWAY – The Bryant Lady Hornets dropped to 0-7 in the 6A Central Conference after getting beaten twice the past week, first falling 3-1 to the North Little Rock Charing Lady Cats on Tuesday in Bryant, and getting swept by the defending state champs Conway Lady Wampus Cats Thursday in Conway.
Against the Lady Wampus Cats (9-6, 6-1 Central), the Lady Hornets (4-10, 0-7) fell 25-16, 25-20 and 25-16 for the sweep.
Bryant junior Madelyn Hoskins led the Lady
Hornets with seven kills against Conway, with junior Sammie Joe Ferguson adding four and sophomore Olivia Mccallister with three. Junior Alyssa Hernandez had three aces, while Ferguson
led the way with seven blocks, with senior Truli Bates blocking three.
Junior Jaiyah Jackson led the way with 14 digs, with senior Ella Reynolds adding nine and junior Sam Still with eight. Hernandez and junior Shaylee Carver both had nine assists apiece.
Against North Little Rock on Tuesday, Bryant dropped 25-11 the first set before fighting back for a 25-18 win in the second. But, NLR got the better of Bryant the next two sets, with the Lady Hornets falling 25-15 and 25-19.
Reynolds led Bryant with seven kills vs. NLR, with Bates adding six and Ferguson five. Reynolds and Bates had three aces each, with Jackson’s 24 digs leading the way. Hernandez had 17, with Reyolds adding 13.
Carver had 13 assists and Hernandez 10.
The Lady Hornets will host Northside in Central play on Tuesday at the Hornet’s Nest.
