Cards snap skid, thump Cobras

HASKELL – The Harmony Grove Cardinals (4-5, 2-4) snapped a fourgame losing streak Friday, defeating Fountain Lake on the road, 41-14.
For Fountain Lake, the loss moves the Cobras to 0-6 in 7-4A action.
The Cardinals torched the Cobras on the ground, rushing for 399 yards with Ryan Riedmueller leading the charge with 144 and two touchdowns. He also collected 32 receiving yards.
Senior back Willie Newton contributed by nearly reaching the century mark, running for 97 yards and a score to help Harmony Grove to the win.
The Cardinals led 21-0 at halftime before tacking on seven in the third quarter and 13 more in the final frame.
Harmony Grove will end its 2019 campaign on the road in Week 10, taking on Robinson.
Robinson steamrolled Ashdown on Friday, winning 55-12 to stay tied with Arkadelphia atop the league standings. Arkadelphia downed Bauxite 42-7 at The Pit on Friday.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. in Little Rock next week.
