Cards snap skid, thump Co­bras

HASKELL – The Har­mony Grove Car­di­nals (4-5, 2-4) snapped a fourgame los­ing streak Fri­day, de­feat­ing Foun­tain Lake on the road, 41-14.

For Foun­tain Lake, the loss moves the Co­bras to 0-6 in 7-4A ac­tion.

The Car­di­nals torched the Co­bras on the ground, rush­ing for 399 yards with Ryan Ried­mueller lead­ing the charge with 144 and two touch­downs. He also col­lected 32 re­ceiv­ing yards.

Se­nior back Wil­lie New­ton con­tributed by nearly reach­ing the cen­tury mark, run­ning for 97 yards and a score to help Har­mony Grove to the win.

The Car­di­nals led 21-0 at half­time be­fore tack­ing on seven in the third quar­ter and 13 more in the fi­nal frame.

Har­mony Grove will end its 2019 cam­paign on the road in Week 10, tak­ing on Robin­son.

Robin­son steam­rolled Ash­down on Fri­day, win­ning 55-12 to stay tied with Arkadel­phia atop the league stand­ings. Arkadel­phia downed Bauxite 42-7 at The Pit on Fri­day.

Kick­off is set for 7 p.m. in Lit­tle Rock next week.
