GLEN ROSE — It was a sloppy night and a sloppy game as the Glen Rose Beavers squeaked by the Centerpoint Knights Friday at Beaver Stadium.

The Beavers edged out the visiting Knights 7-6 after the Knights missed the point-after attempt that would have tied the game. The win for the Beavers keeps them perfect in 5-3A conference and give them their seventh win of the 2020 season. Next week, the Beavers hit the road to take on Horatio (0-7 overall, 0-4 conference). Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

The Beavers were the first team to score Friday. The score came in the second quarter as neither team was able to find the end zone in the first quarter. Glen Rose quarterback Wesley Launius threw to Colton Hixon for a 29-yard touchdown pass to put the Beavers up 7-0. It would be the only touchdown for the Beavers.

The Knights’ lone score of the game came at the 11:14 mark of the third quarter. The Knights crossed into the end zone on a 45-yard touchdown pass. The Knights PAT attempt was no good and they trailed the Beavers

7-6. Neither team was able to score in the fourth and the Beavers claimed victory over the Knights.
