Panthers bowling downs Conway

LITTLE ROCK – After suffering its first defeat Monday at the hands of Cabot, the Benton boys bowling team got back on the winning track Tuesday vs. Conway, with both matches at Professor Bowl West in Little Rock.

After Cabot defeated the Benton girls Monday, the Lady Panthers would get edged by Conway on Tuesday.

Dominating all season until Monday against

Cabot, the Panthers would get back to their dominating ways Tuesday against Conway, winning 2,604 to 2,305 in total pin fall. Benton won 1,149-997 in the first game and won 1,080926 to sweep the classic bowling portion.

Conway downed the Panthers 195-181 in the first Baker game, when five bowlers bowl two frames each, but Benton came back for a 194-187 win in the second Baker.

Benton freshman Dakota Lind led the Panthers with a career-high 232 in the first game, bowling a 188 in the second for a 420 twogame series. Senior Carter Robinson bowled a 392 (201, 191) and junior Alex Roberts 382 (193, 189), senior Raider Gipson 371 (170, 201- season-high), freshman Joey Stivers 344 (200, 144) and freshman Mason Leach 320 (153, 167) followed.

For the girls Tuesday, Benton fell 819-730 in the first game, but came back to down Cabot 849-826 in the second to drop a 1,6451,579 classic game total pin fall. Though close, Cabot claimed both Baker games (137-124, 142-125) to take a 1,924-1,825 victory in total pin fall.

Junior Sophia Meadows led the Lady Panthers with a 345 series (157, 188), with junior

Abby Grace Wilson bowling a careerhigh 295 series, with a career-high 174 game. Junior Acelyn Rowan bowled a career-high 258 series with a career-high 131 game, with junior Abby Hardister following with a 248 (111, 137), junior Hannah Nuss 222 (109, 113) and junior Savanna Gipson 211 (101, 110).

Though the Benton boys suffered defeat for the first time Monday, the Panthers fell by less than 100 pins, with Cabot winning 2,451 2,374 in total pin fall.

Roberts led the Panthers on Monday, bowling a 394 series (191, 203), with Lind a close second with a 392 (171, 221). Leach had a 343 (154, 189), Robinson a 341 (184, 157) and senior Sylas Smith a 302 (134, 168). Splitting games, Gipson bowled a 100 and sophomore Caleb Kelley had a 106.

The Cabot girls handled the Lady Panthers 2,224 - 1,811 on Monday, with Meadows again leading the way with a 356 series (166, 190). Following was Wilson 270 (144, 126), Hardister 243 (110, 133), Nuss 224 (118, 106), Rowan 214 (115, 99) and Gipson 199 (91, 108).

Benton bowls next on Tuesday, hosting Greenbrier at Professor Bowl West in Little Rock.
