BAUXITE – A day after getting edged in a makeup game to the Hope Bobcats on the road Thursday in 7-4A Conference play, the Bauxite Miners avenged that loss with a win over Hope on senior night at Fred Dawson Gym Friday in Bauxite. The Miners claimed a 54-47 victory to improve to 6-5 overall, 2-3 in conference, while Hope moves to 5-1, 5-1.

And two games after scoring a season-high 23 in a win over Malvern, junior Carter Harrison set a new career-high of 27 points Friday, including 21 in the second half which turned the tide of the Miner win.

Harrison hit two 3-pointers in the first quarter the Miners led 16-9, but the second

quarter was a different story. Harrison was held scoreless as the Bobcats battled back to outscore Bauxite 11-4 and tie things at 20-20 at the half.

It looked as though Hope would run away with this one

in the third quarter as the Bobcats outscored the Miners 20-12 to take a 40-32 lead going into the final quarter. Harrison scored seven in the third, but was just warming up. He would put up 14 points, including nailing three of his seven total 3-pointers for the game, in the fourth quarter to double up Hope’s seven points in the fourth, as Bauxite

roared back for the win.

After Harrison’s career day, senior Braylon Walker added 11 points, senior Brayden Brown six, and sophomore Hunter Ferrell, senior Conner Stacy and junior Gunner Westbrook added two points apiece.

The Miners hit the road to Arkadelphia on Tuesday to take on the Badgers.
